Hung Hing Trials Paper from Stone
A new breed of completely tree-free paper made from stone. But how can this paper be used and what are the known benefits? Hung Hing have been testing the brand new innovation in paper technology. The main advantages are environmental, being tree-free with a production process that requires no water, it can boast benefits including no waste water, reduced emissions, no bleaching chemicals and is completely recyclable.
But what about print?....We have performed tests in our factories using 190gsm - 490gsm ECO-STONE paper and whilst it is suitable for most print-finishing techniques, binding methods and weights are restricted. We will keep you updated but if you would like to know more - please contact your Account Manager.

Facility Highlights at Shenzhen
Sam Song, the General Manager of the Fuyong, Shenzhen operation joined Hung Hing in 1990 and has over 20 years experience with print and packaging operations. Our Shenzhen plant has grown to one of the largest printing operations in Southern China, with over 100,000 square metres of working space and over 8,000 skilled employees. Many are trained in operating sophisticated machinery, handling complicated assemblies and meeting exacting quality standards. We are capable of producing a very wide range of products but core business for the Shenzhen operation is children's books, conventional books, stationery, luxury packaging, folding cartons and corrugated cartons.
Workshop in FuYong - with Dave Perkins
During June the supervisors at Fuyong's hand assembly operations worked with Dave Perkins to identify opportunities for performance improvement in quality assurance and work-flow efficiencies. Dave was previously the VP Quality Assurance for a major US shoe manufacturer. He brought 20 plus years of experience in improving manufacturing operations around South China and applied it to our hand assembly operations.
Those who work on the factory floor know better than anyone what can be done more efficiently, and collaborating with Dave from outside the industry was a great way to get people thinking differently. Continual improvements are being made to reduce waste and add value and Roger Lin, our Product Division Manager is continuing to direct the implementation of the measures proposed from this workshop.
